Volunteers are essential to TCV Food Bank’s Marketplace and Thriftstore. We need approximately 40 volunteers a day to ensure that over 200 client families are able to pick up their emergency groceries as well as have access to shop for low-cost home essentials.
Foodbank volunteer shifts are available Monday-Thursday from 8am-4pm. Volunteer duties may include helping clients with food selection, carrying selections to client’s car, restocking food, and sorting food donations.
Thrift Store volunteer shifts are available Mon-Thurs, from 8am-4pm and Fridays 9am-12:30pm. Volunteer duties may include sorting and pricing donations, moving donations to the sales floor, merchandising, and helping with checkout.
Community volunteers are the heart of our agency. Our volunteers have the opportunity to work directly with the families we serve. While you assist families in TCV Food Bank and Thrift Store you are uplifting, mentoring, and connecting with others. That is the real strength of our work.
Setting a Volunteer Shift: After a volunteer has attended an orientation and filled out all required forms they are welcome to immediately begin volunteering with TCV. We request that volunteers work a minimum two hour shift and notify the Volunteer Coordinator 24 hours in advance for any volunteer shifts or cancellations.
Our need for volunteers is greatest Thursday mornings and Mondays.
