TCV Food Bank + Thrift Store loves hosting student volunteers. Our organization feels it is important to get everyone involved in volunteering and we encourage students to join our team. We will verify and sign off on volunteer hours that are completed on our site towards the volunteer requirements set by your school.
Foodbank volunteer shifts are available Monday-Thursday from 8am-4pm. Volunteer duties may include helping clients with food selection, carrying selections to client’s car, restocking food, and sorting food donations.
Thrift Store volunteer shifts are available Mon-Thurs, from 8am-4pm and Fridays 9am-12:30pm. Volunteer duties may include sorting and pricing donations, moving donations to the sales floor, merchandising, and helping with checkout.
Thanks to the contributions of our volunteers, Tri-City Volunteers food bank is fortunate to assist families place 155,459 meals on dinner tables each month.
Setting a Volunteer Shift:Volunteers first need to attend one of our weekly orientations and are able to set up a volunteer shift at the conclusion of the 30 minute orientation. We request volunteers notify the Volunteer Coordinator 24 hours in advance for any volunteer shifts or cancellations and work a minimum two hour shift.
Age Requirements: Minors must have parental consent to work at the food bank. Those under 16 must also be accompanied by a parent/chaperone over the age of 18 at all times.

Orientations are held at the Food Bank on Wednesdays at 10am and Thursdays at 1pm. No registration is required.
Project Interviews: Students who wish to interview staff of Tri-City Volunteers food bank and thrift store in order to complete work assignments are required to email their request to our volunteer coordinator a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the desired interview time.
Vacation Break Volunteering: During vacation periods, we take high school and middle school students on a first come, first served basis because we can only comfortably accommodate 50 volunteers on our site at any one time. All volunteers must complete orientation and set a shift with the Volunteer Coordinator.
